The storm indeed did gather and rain pounded me for about an hour and a half - so bad that I couldn't see the day markers. I used the GPS to track back and forth over 'known' ground, as the channel is extremely narrow and not that deep. Wandering out of the channel is hazardous to the bottom paint! Lightning struck very close a couple of times... Luckily no other boats out there, so I was not in danger of a collision and I could see far enough ahead to avoid trouble if it came. But mostly I was lucky there wasn't a lot of wind!
